My name is Minna Gilligan and I am an artist based in Melbourne, Australia. I completed a Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours) at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2012. I work primarily with painting, drawing and collage. My practice speaks largely of fleeting, personal encounters with the past and present, and manifests in a reconciliation of both that exists tumultuously. The works are eerie playgrounds of colour, usually inhabited by lone protagonists trapped in states of longing, sadness or exhalation.

While exhibiting widely in exhibitions locally, nationally and internationally, I also illustrate for Tavi Gevinson's online magazine ROOKIE and US retailers Urban Outfitters and Nasty Gal. I have collaborated with London based photographer Elle Hardwick and Toronto based photographer Petra Collins, and am a member of her artist collective The Ardorous.
